The phenomenal Minnie Julia Riperton-Rudolph (Born: November 8, 1947 — Died: July 12, 1979)

She burst onto the music scene in the summer of 1974 with her hit album Perfect Angel. We had never heard such a voice. A breathtaking five-octave coloratura soprano range which she used and navigated so effortlessly and elegantly. We adored her immediately and embraced the timely compositions she and her husband Richard Rudolph created as a team. Listening to her today, 40 years after she died tragically of breast cancer at the age of 31, it’s safe to say that Minnie Riperton was a rare talent and we were blessed that she chose to share her extraordinary gift with us.
