Two Civil Rights Movement pioneers and foot soldiers who bled for voting rights and many more of the rights we enjoy today have been called to their Heavenly home, just hours apart. Rev. C.T. Vivian and Rep. John Lewis leave us a legacy to be proud of and to strive to continue. And we must do so, keenly aware that we stand on the shoulders of these two giants among men. Remembering them with blessings when we vote in November, we must be mindful that they waged a mighty battle for us to have that right.
